Date of Birth: 17 Apr 2019
Sire: Cappella Sansevero (GB)
Dam: Marianne's Dancer (IRE)
Dam Sire: Bold Fact (USA)
An attractive and well-made April 2019-born colt by Cappella Sansevero is offered for sale.
He is out of the Bold Fact mare Marianne's Dancer, who was very lightly-raced on the track but has already proven her worth as a broodmare several times over. Her three winning progeny have accumulated 12 victories between them, and she has a filly by Fast Company waiting in the wings.
Her daughter Noble Dancer was a very smart five-furlong two-year-old novice winner on racecourse debut in Ireland before being sold to continue her career in California. In the US she ran in Grade 3 and Listed races over 1 mile, a distance which didn't play to her strengths, before being placed in a six-furlong allowance race. Unfortunately, she was one of the horses stabled at San Luis Rey training centre when it went on fire in 2017 and she sustained an injury.
Another of her progeny, the Red Jazz gelding Dark Side Jazz, won twice as a three-year-old but was unfortunately fatally injured the same year. Clearly, granted better luck, Marianne's Dancer's offspring could have added significantly to an already impressive record.
In addition to impressive statistics on the track, Marianne's Dancer has also enjoyed significant success in the sales ring. Her Dandy Man colt Bromley's Cross realised £60,000 when sold at the Doncaster Breeze-Ups in 2015.
Marianne's Dancer is a sibling of the Listed winner Akanti and the multiple Grp-3 placed Lock And Key, whilst her second dam Lock's Dream was a Grade-3 winner in the US whose further descendants include numerous other black-type performers.
The sire Cappella Sansevero was a high-class two-year-old who won the Listed Marble Hill Stakes and Grp-3 Round Tower Stakes, as well as finishing runner-up in the Grp-2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. A son of the increasingly influential Showcasing, he was always likely to prove popular at stud, and his first-crop surpassed all expectations in 2019.
His standout performer to this point is the exciting Grp-2 Mill Reef Stakes winner and 2,000 Guineas fancy Pierre Lapin, whilst the promise shown by novice/maiden winners Panic Room and Eloy D'amerval only adds to the young stallion's appeal.
The stallion has continued to impress during the winter months, with another smart prospect emerging in the form of Sansevero. Trained by Archie Watson, he was a very impressive winner at Chelmsford on racecourse debut over seven-furlongs in February, and looks sure to go on to better things.
This impressive colt foal has an enticing pedigree and the looks to match. Don't miss out on an exciting prospect at a competitive price.
