A stunning, strong and very attractive three-year-old gelding by Paco Boy, who is well-grown at 16hh, is offered for sale. He was slowly broken in and is extremely well-handled; he is straight off the field and now ready to go into training.
He is out of the winning Acclamation mare Trumpet Lily, who was a consistent and genuine type that reached a peak official rating of 86.
She has gone on to produce progeny by
Oratorio, Compton Place and
Havana Gold, as well as a two years older
full-brother to the gelding for sale, who auctioned for £20,000 as
a yearling in 2017. The mare has been represented by one runner at
the time of writing.
Trumpet Lily is out of Periwinkle, who produced seven winners in total, including the dam of the French Listed-winning hurdler Pafadas, who has since produced the black-type earning Altus.
Periwinkle is in turn a sibling of the Grp-3 winner Mil Foil and the Listed winner Borage, with many more stakes animals to be found further down the page of this prolific family.
The covering sire Paco Boy was an outstanding miler for Richard Hannon Snr, winning three times at Grp-1 level, and he has since proven his capabilities as a stallion many times over.
His best-known offspring is the 2016 2,000
Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes winner Galileo
Gold, though he is also responsible for the five-time
Grp-2 winner Beat The Bank, the Grp-2 winning
two-year-old Beacon and stakes winners such as
Peacock and Mitchum
It is worth noting that Paco Boy has been matched with Acclamation mares extremely successfully in the past. The combination has previously resulted in the aforementioned Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes winner Beacon, the nine-time winner Mr Orange and the juvenile debutant scorer Kuramathi.
This super specimen has a very exciting profile and a bright future in front of him. A good and knowledgeable home is essential. He can be viewed in Berkshire by genuine potential purchasers.
