Sire: BOLLIN ERIC
Dam: MISS FLEUR
Dam Sire: Bandmaster (USA)
A yearling gelding by the St Leger winner Bollin Eric is offered for sale.
This impressive youngster is out of the Bandmaster mare Miss Fleur, who was a dual winner over fences during her racing days and was also placed on a further six occasions. A stout stayer who appreciated three miles plus and an ease in the ground, such traits suggest she is well matched with strong stamina influence Bollin Eric.
Miss Fleur is a member of a family that has been relatively inactive in recent generations, but traces back to numerous winners. These include the three-time scorer Mullaghmore, the useful Mick My Mongrello - who won a Curragh maiden on debut and was racing in Stakes company shortly after - and the dual winning sprinter Moet. The last named went on to foal the Listed Eyrefield Stakes third Dick Morris, who later went on to be a high-class performer under both codes in the Czech Republic.
Bollin Eric won the 2002 St Leger, as well as the Grp-3 Lonsdale Stakes and finishing fourth in the Grp-1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes. He is now a well-regarded NH sire, whose most notable progeny include the 12-time winning 145-rated chaser Grandad's Horse and the five-time winning 138-rated hurdler Seymour Eric. The combination of a strong-staying mare with a stout influence such as Bollin Eric promises plenty, whilst the distaff side of the family is rich enough in history to suggest it can flourish once again in future generations.
