An impressive three-year-old filly by Sun Central is offered for sale. A May 2018 foal, she is out of the Motivator mare Fame Is The Spur and looks to be a lovely long-term prospect.
The dam was relatively lightly-raced on the racecourse, but did win a mile and a quarter handicap at Newmarket as a three-year-old. She has gone on to enjoy significant success as a broodmare, producing four winners to date.
Fame Is The Spur is herself a half-sister to the US Grade-2 winner and Grade-1 placed Battle of Hastings, the Listed winner Villa Carlotta (dam of the Listed winner Ceilidh House) and the Listed-placed Subyan Dreams (dam of the South African Grp-1 palced pair Felix The Cat and Mljet).
Their dam Subya was a multiple Listed winner and Grp-3 placed, whilst the Grp-1 placed First Selection is another of her black-type earning descendants.
It is also noteworthy that several useful jumpers have emerged from this family. They include the six-time hurdles winner Seeyaaj, the 124-rated winning hurdler/chaser Ohana and the high-class hurdler Bothy.
He was a triple winner over timber for trainer Brian Ellison, and finished third in the Grade-1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle, second in the Grade-3 Greatwood Hurdle (a neck behind the top-class Menorah), was runner-up in the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, and failed by a short head to win the prestigious Betfair Hurdle at Newbury.
Such details bode well for the filly offered for auction, who is out of a promising young NH sire in the form of Sun Central.
He was a very smart performer for trainer William Haggas, winning five of his 10 starts, including twice in Listed company, and earning a Timeform rating of 119. A son of Galileo and a sibling of the outstanding pair George Washington and Grandera, he has stood under the Elusive Bloodstock banner since 2015.
His progeny have sold for up to five times his covering fee at public auction, and his first runners under NH rules are now starting to emerge. His five-year-old son It Can Be Done is in training at the powerful Dan Skelton yard, and has already finished second in a Stratford hurdle from a handful of starts.
This filly is blessed with good credentials on paper and has the physical attributes to match. She is available at an extremely competitive price; please get in touch for further information.
