An exciting and good-looking two-year-old filly from the first-crop of Vauterhill Stud-based stallion Cannock Chase is offered for sale outright at £6,000 plus VAT. Trained by Victor Dartnall in Barnstaple, North Devon, she could also be divided into 12.5% shares upon request.
She is the first foal out of the Dutch Art mare Legal Art, who was a versatile and consistent type that won over a mile as a four-year-old. She is in turn one of six winners out of the 100-rated Sosumi, who won twice over five-furlongs at two, finished a close-up fourth in the Grp-3 Prix du Calvados and even ran in the 1,000 Guineas.
Sosumi's other winning offspring include the eight-time winner and 89-rated Tevez, whilst the extended family features the Grp-1 winners Summoner, Compton Admiral, The Fugue and Limato.
The sire Cannock Chase won the Grade-1 Canadian International when in training with Sir Michael Stoute, before retiring to stud in 2017. He boasts a stallion's pedigree, as a half-brother to the outstanding Star Catcher, who won the Grp-1 Irish Oaks, Prix Vermeille and British Champion Fillies' and Mares' Stakes, as well as the Grp-2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, during a stellar campaign in 2019.
Furthermore, his full-brother Pisco Sour won the Grp-2 Prix Eugene Adam and the Grp-3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot. A son of sire of sires Lemon Drop Kid, Cannock Chase will welcome his first runners on a racecourse later this year.
This lovely filly is growing into an impressive individual who is likely to be ready to run in the autumn. Please get in touch for further details.
