A superbly bred two-year-old colt by Toronado out of a Green Desert mare is offered for sale.
This attractive youngster is a quality individual who possesses size and substance, and hails from an excellent family cultivated over several generations by the Rothschilds.
His dam Rosacara is a daughter of the Listed Galtres Stakes heroine Rambling Rose, and therefore counts the Grp-1 Eclipse Stakes, Grp-1 Juddmonte International and Grp-1 Tattersalls Gold Cup winner and sire Notnowcato amongst her siblings.
Rosacara, who was placed twice at up to a mile from a handful of starts, has gone on to a successful breeding career. Her five winning progeny include the Grp-2 placed two-year-old Russelliana, whilst her four-year-old Dutch Art gelding After John helped to keep the family in the spotlight by winning a six-furlong novice at Pontefract last year.
Meanwhile, Rosacara's sire Green Desert is the renowned broodmare sire of 2,000 Guineas winner Makfi, Dubai World Cup victor Almutawakel, Lockinge hero Mustashry and many more.
Numerous other pattern performers have emerged from this tail line in recent seasons, notably the Grp-3 Glorious Stakes winner Dubday, the Grp-2 Lancashire Oaks victrix Gertrude Bell and the Listed winner Dick Doughtywylie.
On this occasion Rosacara has been matched with the classy Toronado. The highlight of an unbeaten two-year-old campaign was success in the Grp-2 Champagne Stakes, and he would go on to confirm himself a miler of the highest order by winning the Grp-1 Sussex Stakes at three and the Grp-1 Queen Anne Stakes at four.
Retired to stud in 2015, his first crop emerged onto racecourses in 2018 and have gained many admirers in the two years since. His best runners to date include the pattern performers Watan, Revelstoke and Almufti, as well as the Listed winners Alwaab, Still A Star, Stone Toronado, Taos and Wasmya.
It is important to note that Toronado matches particularly well with mares hailing from the Green Desert line. Some of his best runners out of mares by Green Desert or his sons include the Listed-placed Festina Plente, the useful French three-year-old filly Gharabeel, the 92-rated Yolo Again and the exciting unbeaten French 2,000 Guineas entrant Natural Path.
This eyecatching colt has all the physical and pedigree attributes required to develop into a very exciting prospect on the racecourse. Please get in touch for more details.
