Sire: Policy Maker (Ire)

Dam Sire: Bienamado (USA)
A fine and imposing three-year-old gelding by Policy Maker is offered for sale.
The sire was a high-class middle-distance performer on the flat in France, who won four-times in Grp-2 company and was also Grp-1 placed. A son of the great Sadler's Wells, he has since stood as a NH sire in both Ireland and France and has produced numerous smart animals.
Indeed, Policy Maker's reputation is at an all-time high just now as his exciting son Chacun Pour Soi won the Grade-1 Ryanair Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival in May for trainer Willie Mullins and owner Rich Ricci. He beat the top-class Defi Du Seuil by over four lengths and he rates one of the most exciting prospects heading into the new NH season.
Other smart performers by the sire include the French Grade-1 winning hurdler Roll On Has, the Grade-1 placed chaser Velvet Maker and the 156-rated Paul Nicholls-trained chaser Art Mauresque.
This imposing youngster is out of the unraced Bienamado mare Chill The Beans, who is a half-sister to the hurdles winner Tailor Tim and a full-sister to the prolific point-to-point scorer Bien Connu. Another sibling, the lightly-raced Dawn Soldier, realised €33,000 when sold to Peter and Ross Doyle as a three-year-old, to confirm the quality of horse this family can produce. The extended pedigree features the Listed-winning Irish chasers Why Bother and Royal Record, and Noel Meade's very useful hurdler Cosmo's Moon, who was placed at the Punchestown Festival this year.
The pairing of a mare from a solid and capable NH family with a sire who is enjoying a significant renaissance has resulted in a very impressive young animal. He is surely going to develop beyond the very competitive asking price.
