2017 Gelding by Indian Haven (GB) ex Magical Wonderland (GB)

A cracking three-year-old gelding by Indian Haven is offered for sale at £4,000.

This strong and correct individual has been long reined and was sat on last summer. He is well handled, blessed with a super temperament and moves well.

The dam Magical Wonderland won a bumper on her racecourse debut and later added two victories in novice hurdles, from just 10 starts in total.

She was a very tough, genuine and sound mare, and has since gone on to produce progeny by Septieme Ciel and Pasternak, as well as an unraced year older full-sister to the gelding for sale.

Her only runner to date was Heavenly Magic, who evidently displayed ability as he was sent off at a short price in a Newton Abbot bumper on debut when partnered by the great AP McCoy, before finishing unplaced.

Magical Wonderland is in turn a half-sister to the classy seven-time winner Magical Legend, who gained valuable black-type when runner-up in a Listed mares' hurdle at Cheltenham and a Listed mares' chase at Newbury. A notably versatile performer, Magical Legend won a bumper, over hurdles and fences, collected more than £75,000 in win and place prizemoney and was rarely out of the frame in nearly 50 starts under rules.

Other siblings of Magical Wonderland include Demesne, who defeated the Graded-placed pair Rights Of Man and For A Song when winning a Clonmel maiden hurdle, whilst their dam Alice's Mirror won a total of six times over hurdles.

On this occasion Magical Wonderland has been matched with the 2003 Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Indian Haven.

The sire has proven himself to be a reliable producer of good NH stock over many years, with his best runners including the useful hurdles/chase winner Pullyourfingerout, the Royal Ascot winner and later 128-rated hurdler Beachfire and the 134-rated seven-time chase winner Indian Voyage. The sire continues to stand at Withyslade Farm Stud and his qualities seem sure to dovetail nicely with those of Magical Wonderland.
