2017 Gelding by Hallowed Crown (Aus) ex Peaceful Soul (USA)

An exciting unnamed three-year-old gelding by Hallowed Crown is offered for sale at £5,000 ONO. Currently trained by Brian Barr in Dorset, he is available to stay in the yard, but a sale to go elsewhere could be negotiated.

A big strong and imposing sort, this youngster has been given time to strengthen and mature, having been based with current connections since the yearling stage.

He was broken in as a two-year-old, before being put away until July of this year. He has thrived for this patient approach, and now stands an imposing 17hh, is correct in every way, and in full work.

He is out of the Dynaformer mare Peaceful Soul, who has previously produced a pair of winners who have combined to land 20 races between them. She is in turn a sibling of two black-type earners, and the extended family features numerous other stakes performers.

The covering sire Hallowed Crown was a Grp-1 winning miler in Australia who retired to stud under the Darley banner, and he is now stamping his stock with size and quality.

Although his eldest Northern Hemisphere progeny are only three, he has already demonstrated himself to be a smart flat stallion. Notably, his daughter Colette thrived for a step up to middle distances when winning the Grp-1 Australian Oaks earlier this year.

However, of even greater significance is that his first runner over jumps, the Noel Meade trained Jeff Kidder, was a good second in a Roscommon maiden hurdle earlier this month. This bodes extremely well for the future prospects of this gelding for sale.

In addition to physical scope and an eyecatching pedigree, this three-year-old gelding has the most wonderful way of going and is a very laid back character. He is now cantering away with a view to running in a juvenile bumper before Christmas.
