An attractive filly by the exciting first-season sire Outstrip is offered for sale.
A graduate of the Tattersalls February Sale that is improving all the time, this filly has benefited from a professional pre-training regime and is blessed with an excellent temperament. She was long reined for three weeks before moving on to being ridden and doing road work. This extensive schedule was undertaken to ensure that the filly was strong and well-balanced prior to embarking on more serious work on the gallops, which she has subsequently taken in her stride.
The dam Oulianovsk was a winner in France as a three-year-old and has gone on to produce four winners to date. These include the three-time winner Mikelino, a useful son of Dubawi, and the exciting three-year-old Jahbath. A member of Mukhadram's first crop, the William Haggas-trained Jabhath won four in a row on the AW over the winter at a mile, ascending to an official rating of 102.
Although unsuited by the surface when disappointing in the UAE Derby at Meydan recently, he still looks highly likely to add black-type to the page and increase this filly's value later in the year. There is depth to the pedigree, too. Oulianovsk is one of five winners out of the Grp-2 Grand Prix de Vichy heroine and Grp-1 placed Ode, a mare who also produced the Listed-winner Otaiti (dam of the Listed winning and Grp-1 placed Ostankino) and the Listed-placed Odessa (dam of the Listed placed Oranais).
It is also worth noting the tremendous record of Oulianovsk's sire Peintre Celebre in the broodmare sire division. His daughters have produced the winners of dozens of Grp-1 races in recent years, including such stellar names as Pakistan Star, Protectionist, Vadamos, Talent and Red Cadeaux.
The sire Outstrip was a top-class juvenile for Godolphin, winning the Grp-2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and then heading across the Atlantic to lift the Grade-1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. He trained on at three to finish third in the Grp-1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot behind the outstanding Kingman, and as a son of sire of sires Exceed And Excel looks to be very well-credentialed for a stallion career.
Having been marketed as a Darley Club stallion Outstrip was very well patronised in his early seasons at stud, and his offspring have realised as much as €90,000 in the auction ring.
With the good looks to go with an appealing and improving pedigree, this March-foaled filly will surely appeal to breeders such is her long-term potential. She will unquestionably prove a shrewd investment for whoever is lucky enough to secure her purchase.
