A three-year-old filly by the exciting sire Anjaal is offered for sale. She is being sold as a result of her current owner's retirement and her enticing pedigree credentials suggest she rates a very smart prospect.
This April-foaled fily is out of the Dansili mare Comedic Art. The dam was trained by Dermot Weld to win a mile and a half maiden at the Galway Festival and ascended to a career high rating of 81. Her two progeny to have raced thus far include the ill-fated Party Fears Too, who won two races on the bounce over a mile in 2018 the way to a mark of 83.
Comedic Art hails from a very smart family that is of enduring quality. She is herself out of the US Listed winner and Grade-3 placed Step With Style, whilst her five winning siblings include the Grp-3 Park Express Stakes runner-up Firey Red - who has gone on to foal the Grp-3 placed Firey Speech.
The extended family features numerous high-quality performers, such as the Grp-1 Middle Park Stakes winner Awzaan, the dual Grp-2 winner Kool Kompany, and the Grp-1 placed pair Living The Life and Princess Loulou.
Adding to the expectation surrounding this filly is the identity of her sire. Anjaal won the Grp-2 July Stakes for trainer Richard Hannon in 2013 before finishing fourth in the Grp-1 Dewhurst Stakes. He retired to stud at a relatively modest fee of €5,000 but his progeny turned heads in the sales ring - auctioning for as much as £100,000 as yearlings last autumn.
That figure was eclipsed when one of his breezers realised €150,000 at Arqana last year, and the expectation surrounding his stock grew. That hype has translated into racecourse success with his first-crop featuring the Weatherbys Super Sprint heroine Bettys Hope (sold for just £3,000 as a yearling) and the very promising winners Above and Windham Belle.
This filly's siblings have sold for as much as £20,000, her winning dam is by one of the world's premier broodmare sires in Dansili, and the sire Anjaal is flavour of the month following his extraordinary exploits in the Super Sprint. She could scarcely offer better value with £2,000 all that is being requested. Don't miss out!
