A four-year-old gelding by Mayson out of a Sadler's Wells mare is available on a free lease arrangement.
The agreement will be for either one year or one season, pending discussions with the vendor, and the horse is being offered on the understanding that he will go to a licensed training establishment for the duration.
Currently in the care of Grove Farm Stud in Newmarket, this unnamed four-year-old has grown into a lovely individual, having been well-handled and carefully developed. He is absolutely ready to go into training right away.
There is certainly encouragement to be drawn from his pedigree. The dam Tobaranama was a winner that also placed in Listed company at up to a mile and a quarter, and she has gone on to produce four winners to date as a broodmare. Some of her own daughters have also gone on to successful breeding careers and her further descendants include the Listed-placed pair Leonio and Boomboom Kiss.
The extended family is one of sheer quality. Tobaranama is a sibling of the Grp-1 Phoenix Stakes heroine Pharaoh's Delight and the multiple Listed winner Kateb, whilst further high-class animals to have emerged from this arm of the family include the Grade-1 Breeders' Cup Turf victor Red Rocks and dual Grade-1 winning hurdler Hisaabaat.
Deeper analysis of the pedigree reveals dozens more black-type animals within the first three generations - far too many to list - whilst the legendary Sadler's Wells needs no introduction as damsire. His daughters have produced numerous era-defining stars such as Enable, Sakhee, Workforce, El Condor Pasa, Conduit, Henrythenavigator etc.
The distaff side of the pedigree is one of real distinction, and it is an interesting match for the sire Mayson. The former July Cup winner has made a reasonable impact from his four crops of racing age, producing numerous stakes performers such as Global Applause, Laugh A Minute, Oxted and True Mayson, whilst his only previous pairing with a Sadler's Well mare resulted in the Nottingham mile handicap winner Mordoree.
In addition, his progeny's noted preference for an easy surface should tally well with the produce of Tobaranama, who excelled when the mud was flying during her own career.
This youngster has been given time to mature and develop, and his pedigree indicates that in all probability he will mature into an above average talent. With such an appealing lease offer on the table, do you really want to miss out?
