Newly formed, The Yorkshire Racing Syndicate purchased 50% of Raise Your Shades from Ben Pauling's yard at the end of March 2020. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to secure your share now!
A son of Morozov out of a Luso mare, 'Shades' has already tasted success himself and is closely related to the high-class pair Eduard and Opening Batsman, who both came to form in their later years.
A winner over hurdles last summer at Southwell by eight-lengths off a mark of 89, Raise Your Shades went up 7lbs in the ratings as a result. He was in the process of running another big race at Worcester on his next start until he was hampered by a fallen horse.
He has disappointed a little since then, and there's a suspicion he doesn't go quite as well right-handed; however, we feel a change of scenery and a little bit more care and attention at a smaller yard will do him the world of good. We've given him an MOT, he is a fully-sound horse with no vices, and he's been a pleasure to have in the yard since his arrival.
As he's only six-years old we have a range of options. With the recent delay of jump racing there is expected to be a busier schedule for the summer and we duly think we have a great chance of notching a couple of wins with him. We intend to start over hurdles; however, given his frame and what his siblings accomplished, we see his future over the larger obstacles in novice handicaps off an attractive mark of 91.
'Shades' will be trained by Stella Barclay and her team based near Garstang, in Lancashire. Having held shares with the stable before, we think it's a perfect setting for our horses and they make sure they don't leave any stone unturned.
We have 8 x 5% or 4 x 10% shares available, and expect these to be taken quickly, such is the competitive pricing we can offer you.
We expect 'Shades' to be a short-term project and shares are based on an initial six-month term; however, we may decide to keep him longer into the winter.
Owners are to be paid a percentage of all prize monies (dependent on share percentage) and will be paid at the end of the syndicate term, minus BHA, Weatherbys, trainer's and jockeys' fees.
Stable visits included, and one Owners & Trainers badge per 5% (subject to allocation, draw to be made if there are more requests for badges than the allocation given).
We intend to set up a WhatsApp Group for owners to be kept up-to-date and for videos/pictures of the horses work to be posted.
