Shares are available in the exciting five-year-old Mahler mare Nextdoortoalice. Fit and ready to run having shown promise in Ireland earlier in the year, she has joined the team of trainer Alex Hales and looks to have a big future.
Nextdoortoalice displayed encouragement when fourth on her hurdles and racecourse debut at Limerick in April, before finishing third in a very warm heat at Tipperary next time out.
The winner of that contest, Gypsy Island, was a top-class bumper mare who has long been considered one of the most exciting hurdling prospects in Ireland, whilst the runner-up Annie G has since won a Listed hurdle at the Galway Festival by eight lengths.
On her third and most recent run, Nextdoortoalice finished second behind a well thought of Gordon Elliott mare (currently in the care of Denise Foster), who had made €125,000 when selling at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale a couple of years ago.
As well as compelling form lines, Nextdoortoalice possesses a smart pedigree. Her sire Mahler is a renowned source of NH stock, his best progeny including the likes of Chris's Dream, Sutton Place, Ornua and Ok Corral, whilst her Grade-2 placed dam Lady Zephyr has already distinguished herself as a broodmare.
The mare has three winning progeny to her name so far, notably the six-time winner and formerly 135-rated chaser Owen Na View and the 128-rated hurdler Uptown Lady, who fell at the last when looking sure to secure black-type in the Grade-2 Jayne Seymour Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Sandown in February.
Subsequent winners have emerged from all three of Nextdoortoalice's races thus far, and the level of form she has shown suggests that she can win a maiden hurdle in Britain before going on to better things. Indeed, her profile and promising early form suggest she might even develop into a black-type mare, which would consolidate her already significant value as a broodmare.
A good size but not over-big, Nextdoortoalice certainly has the scope to jump fences, so her prospects in both the short and longer term look extremely bright. Please get in touch to find out more about this exciting mare.
