In training with Roger Varian, the Newmarket-based handler, Musicality has speed to burn and is clearly going places!
Such is the regard in which he is held by his syndicate owners, they turned down an offer of £100,000 for him in August 2020.
He made his debut in June 2020 finishing a gallant second in a six-furlong Leicester maiden one length behind a well-touted favourite (Aristocratic Lady), who had the benefit of racecourse experience and has since followed up with two more comfortable victories earning a handicap mark now of 98.
Musicality then returned to Leicester on 17th July 2020, in a novice event over five-furlongs and won going away for a comfortable 3.5l success in a time that dipped below RP Standard.
He was given an opening mark of 86 after that race and on his third start (and handicap debut) he ran an excellent second beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Byline, (who was raised 8lbs to a new mark of 95 for that win). Musicality came a long way clear of the third horse but was raised just 1lb and is now rated 87.
Still having raced only three times, Musicality is unexposed, highly progressive and seemingly well handicapped, so with further experience he looks certain to see plenty of racing and rise through the ranks in the sprinting division.
This correct gelding is a very smart and imposing individual and comes from a family that has produced many high-class two-year-olds and Grp-1 winners.
He is an attractive and athletic type, with a good walk and great presence. He is by the prolific Grp-1 sire and Champion Sprinter Kyllachy, out of a mare has produced a perfect five useful winners from five runners. Musicality is also bred on exactly the same cross as his sire's leading performer and multiple Grp-1 winner Sole Power, who is also out of a Distant View mare.
Purchased at the prestigious Book 2 Yearling Sale at Tattersalls in Newmarket, he vetted very well at the sale, with clean x-rays and a good scope.
With the speed that he has shown in his three races to date, Musicality is progressive and the sky is the limit!
His Sire: KYLLACHY was a Champion Sprinter and has been a leading stallion since retiring to stud, regularly siring over 100 individual winners in a season. A son of the high-class stallion Pivotal, Kyllachy's first Group victory came in the Grp-3 Palace House Stakes, before going on to take the Grp-2 Temple Stakes by four lengths. His most notable success, which saw him confirmed as Champion Sprinter, came in the in the Grp-1 Nunthorpe Stakes. His best performer has been the multiple Grp-1 winner, Sole Power, who like his sire also won the Grp-1 Nunthorpe Stakes (on two occasions). Kyllachy has also sired the Grp-1 winners Twilight Son and Krypton Factor, as well as the tough and durable Grp-2 winners Penitent, Arabian Gleam, Tariq, Dragon Pulse and Stepper Point, as well as the Grp-2 Queen Mary Stakes winner Heartache at Royal Ascot.
His Dam: ALLEGRO VIVA has proven herself a high-class mare with a perfect record of seven winners from seven runners. This is an impressive record for any broodmare, but even better is that she has produced the high-class Group 2 winner Canticum, the 10-time winner Uphold (prize money of £89,555) and these seven useful winners all had high RPR ratings of 86, 88, 89, 91, 93, 99 and 111! Allegro Viva is also bred in the purple, being a full-sister to the Grp-1 Dewhurst Stakes winner Distant Music and to the dam of the Grp-1 winning sprinter African Rose.
