Shares are available in the Wolverhampton five-furlong track record holder and six-time winning six-year-old gelding Lomu! Rated 86 in September 2020, the son of Dandy Man will be trained by Dave Loughnane in Shropshire.
Too Speedy Racing offers this exciting opportunity to own shares in Lomu. He has won over trips of five-furlongs, six-furlongs and seven-furlongs. Previously he has been trained in Scotland and most of his runs have been in the North. He has shown his liking for turf and all-weather tracks and it is our intention to start off with an all-weather campaign in the winter. We expect his first run to be in October.
Lomu was trained by Iain Jardine most recently. He is a half-brother to flat and hurdles winner Beechmount Whisper. In fact, looking at Lomu you would think he was a National Hunt prospect rather than a reliable high-class sprint handicapper.
Having won a class 2 handicap over five-furlongs in the winter we will aim to campaign Lomu over sprint distances initially but if we can get him to settle he may well be versatile enough to compete over seven-furlongs again. If you watch his races he is not afraid to go for a gap to push his way through to lead. He certainly looks a brave horse.
The trainer, Dave Loughnane, is a hungry and ambitious handler who has proven ability in getting horses to fulfil their potential. His team pride themselves on a personal touch with their owners and put the horse first and recently enjoyed their first group success with Santosha.
Lomu has settled well into his new Shropshire home, and this gentle giant is already a yard favourite. We feel the new surroundings will help him perform and give his owners an exciting time ahead. Dave is really pleased with his new recruit's attitude and is as excited as us to work with him.
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a share in a readymade decent sprint handicapper who has the potential to run in some of the more valuable handicaps. An ideal opportunity to get involved in a proven performer and sprinters can improve with age. We are certainly excited about the future with him.
