A tremendous opportunity is presented by successful
Lambourn-based trainer Mark Usher to take a share
in the Rowdown Nursery Syndicate! This
multi-horse partnership comprises three two-year-olds (two colts
and a filly), all of whom have exciting pedigrees and are sure to
give members a lot of excitement this season.
The initial Rowdown Nursery Syndicate, named after the Rowdown Stables from which Mark trains, was such a great success that it has encouraged the team to set up a similar partnership for the new season. The accounts for the first partnership show that each shareholder received a third of their initial investment as a dividend. This, combined with the excitement of being involved with three lovely two-year-olds, emphasised the benefit of the Nursery concept.
20 shares are available for a £3,000 outlay, which will cover the purchase and all associated costs of running the three horses until 31st October 2020. The horses will be sold either within or outside the yard by that date and the dividend, comprising of their sale value and prize money won, will be paid out in December 2020. All shareholders will enjoy the usual benefits of racehorse ownership.
More information about the three exciting prospects involved in the syndicate is outlined below, please get in touch now for more details!
Liberty Bay (pictured - and pedigree
filly by Iffraaj out of Light Fantastic (Acclamation)
As the picture demonstrates, Liberty Bay is a gorgeous daughter of Iffraaj. The sire was a top-class sprinter/seven-furlong performer on the racecourse and is now firmly established as a phenomenal stallion. He is responsible for the winners of approaching 1,500 races and over £25 million win and place prizemoney. His leading lights include Grp/Grade-1 winners such as Ribchester, Chriselliam, Wootton Bassett and Jungle Cat.
The dam Light Fantastic won over seven-furlongs as a two-year-old and hails from a super family that traces back to the Champion European Two-Year-Old filly Blue Duster. Liberty Bay is a very strong and athletic filly, who was an early foal and should be one to kick on with as soon as possible!
Spirit of Rowdown
colt by Charm Spirit out of Columella (Kyllachy)
This cracking colt is a son of the multiple Grp-1 winning miler Charm Spirit, who is now a successful stallion. He has produced the Grp-3 Sovereign Stakes winner Kick On and the Grp-3 Dick Poole Stakes heroine Yourtimeisnow from just two full crops of racing age, whilst he is also responsible for numerous pattern winners in the Southern Hemisphere. Spirit of Rowdon's dam Columella, by Kyllachy, won twice (at five and seven-furlongs) as a two-year-old and is sure to transfer that precocity to her offspring.
This horse was picked up for just 3,000gns at the sales and now looks particularly well-bought. He has made giant strides since being broken in and has already improved massively. He looks every inch a two-year-old and is sure to be out on the track before too long.
colt by Gleneagles out of Destalink (Rail Link)
Perthsire is an attractive son of the brilliant Gleneagles, who was a Grp-1 winning two-year-old that trained on to win the English 2,000 Guineas, Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes. His hugely anticipated 2019 first-crop featured the Grp-2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Royal Dornoch and the Grp-2 July Stakes winner Royal Lytham, whilst he has received lots of backing from Coolmore, which is a reassuring sign.
Perthsire's dam Destalink is from a tremendous Juddmonte family, and she was herself good enough to achieve a rating of 80 and finish in the frame on all starts. This colt is not over-big and will continue to do well with time and patience, but his eyecatching pedigree ensured that he could not be left alone at Tatts Book 2 at a very attractive price.
