One final share remains available in the strong and scopey
novice hurdling prospect Barntown, a son of
the excellent sire Jeremy. The six-year-old
gelding has shown a really good level of form in Ireland in five
starts and has since impressively won a Lingfield handicap hurdle.
He is based in South Wales with Grade-1 winning
trainer Tim Vaughan.
Barntown, the impressive winner of a schooling bumper prior to
making his rules debut, is a horse that has been on Tim's radar
since his debut at Leopardstown in March 2018, where he finished an
encouraging fifth in a bumper. Eighth of 16 at the Punchestown
Festival on his next outing (second, third, fourth, fifth and
seventh have all won since), he had two more runs in bumpers,
including when finishing third at Thurles in December.
His attentions were switched to hurdling thereafter, and he
showed ability in Ireland and the UK, before impressively getting
off the mark at Lingfield in November.
This early promise is unsurprising as Barntown is bred to be
very useful. The third foal out of
the Luso mare Anna's
his Craigsteel half-brother
Flash The Steel was a dual winner over
hurdles last season, whilst the other half-brother has won his last
two starts in Ireland - a bumper and then on hurdles
Their dam is an unraced sister to a multiple winner over
hurdles and fences, and is half-sister to three other winners,
notably triple Grade 2-placed hurdler No Hassle
Hoff. One step further back is the Scottish National
winner Moorcroft Boy, so there is no doubting
that this is a lovely National Hunt pedigree.
Barntown also boasts the looks and physique, with plenty of
size and class about him. Such is the shine that Tim has taken to
this horse that he went to Ireland to purchase his half-brother at
the Goffs Land Rover Sale in June!
A late April foal, he remains in the infancy of his career but
he has all the attributes to make up into a very smart performer in
time and he looks to have the potential to develop into a Saturday
horse as soon as this coming season.
Act fast to avoid disappointment!
He is a tremendously exciting prospect, in which there
is just one final 1/6th share available, priced at £6,000 upfront,
with £300 all-inclusive monthly training fees from 1st
