2019 Filly by Ardad (Ire) ex Powerfulstorm (GB)

An attractive and good-moving two-year-old filly by 2021 first season sire prospect Ardad is available for syndication. She is trained by Paul George in Devon and a 25% share costs £1,500 - with no training fees to pay until February!

This fine prospect has been broken and is now cantering and showing plenty of promise.

This February 2019 foal is out of Powerfulstorm, who won a seven-furlong handicap as a four-year-old. She has gone on to produce one runner to date and, as a daughter of the noted broodmare sire source Bertolini, remains a mare of significant potential.

Powerfulstorm is a half-sister to the remarkable miler Trade Storm, who was the winner of six races and progressed through the handicap ranks to succeed at the highest level. Trained for the larger part of his career by David Simcock, he won the Grade-1 Woodbine Mile and the Grp-2 Zabeel Mile, as well as placing in Grp/Grade-1 company on numerous occasions, including in the 2014 Breeders' Cup Mile.

Trade Storm has now commenced stallion duties at Haras de la Bareliere in France.

Powerfulstorm's numerous other winning siblings include the 90-rated six-time winning sprinter Wanchai Lad (a precocious type who won his first two starts as a two-year-old), whilst their unraced dam was out of the Listed winner Cosmic Talent.

The covering sire Ardad was another speedy juvenile, who won the Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster and defeated the mighty Battaash in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. He now stands at Overbury Stud and his first runners are awaited with great expectation next year.

An exciting addition to the Kodiac line, his progeny sold for up to £55,000 at the recent yearling sales and he looks sure to develop into a real force amongst the first season sire crop next year.
