Greens Racing presents an exciting opportunity to purchase 10% shares in an attractive two-year-old colt by the first-season sire Ardad. He is based with Grp-1 winning trainer David Menuisier at Coombelands Racing Stables in Pulborough, West Sussex.
Born in March 2019, this striking and well-made individual is out of the Footstepsinthesand mare Sand Dancer. She was very lightly-raced on the track but has gone on to produce two runners including the talented Jilbaab. He was fifth in a warm Newbury maiden on his only appearance as a two-year-old and won over seven-furlongs at Wolverhampton at three.
Sand Dancer hails from a good family and is a half-sister to the three-time winning 89-rated handicapper Captain Courageous. Their unraced dam Annacloy Pearl was a sibling of the Listed-placed sprinter Roker Park, as well as the dams of the Grp-1 Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Samitar, the Royal Ascot winning two-year-old Nijoom Dubai and the Grp-2 Gimcrack Stakes winner (and Grp-1 placed) Shaweel. The extended pedigree features numerous other pattern performers.
On this occasion Sand Dancer has been matched with the exciting young stallion Ardad, who won the Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes and Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (beating Battaash) as a two-year-old. Subsequently retired to Overbury Stud, his first runners are awaited with great anticipation when the 2021 turf flat season gets underway.
Ardad is a son of record-breaking two-year-old sire Kodiac and his progeny have continually impressed in the sales ring, realising figures over £50,000 on numerous occasions. With exemplary credentials and many leading trainers housing his offspring, he looks sure to star amongst the latest group of first-crop stallions.
