The Yorkshire Owners Racing Club is pleased to offer an exciting ownership opportunity, with affordable lease shares available in an unraced three-year-old filly by Free Eagle named Miracle Eagle.
She is trained by Jedd O'Keefe in Middleham, North Yorkshire, and was due to make her racecourse debut in March.
The club is looking to build on the success enjoyed with Kendred Soul during the 2019 flat season. Also trained by Jedd, she ran six times, winning her maiden at Beverley as well as finishing second twice and third once. The members of that syndicate had lots of fun, some great days out and are now able to say that they were part owners of a winning racehorse!
Like Kendred Soul, this latest filly is a product of Kildaragh Stud, and she looks a first-class prospect.
She is already in training at Jedd's yard and should be ready to race within six to eight weeks. The trainer is very impressed with her nature, attitude and fitness and is a big fan of the sire, as he also has another Free Eagle filly in the yard whom he rates highly. It is a great boost to have a ready-made horse that can run shortly, and Jedd's latest update read as follows:
'The filly is doing great. She has galloped twice, is well educated and quite fit and copes easily. She has had one stall session which was perfect. Everything positive at the moment nothing negative at all. Really like her.'
The sire Free Eagle was a top-class performer at a mile and a quarter, who won the Grp-1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot. He has made a promising start to his stallion career with eight individual winners from 29 runners.
Given that seven of those winners have been at distances ranging from seven to nine-furlongs (as two-year-olds), it is clear that the sire's influence will see this filly excel over middle distances. Free Eagle improved from two to three, and again from three to four, so you would hope that his progeny will follow suit.
The dam Tartessian is a daughter of Lawman (broodmare sire of Battaash amongst others) and is a half-sister to the Listed winners Albaraah and Thai Haku.
Clearly this is a very smart family and this attractive and scopey filly has a very exciting future.
If you have always dreamed of being a Racehorse Owner, this is a great way to get involved at a relatively low cost and low risk!
We intend to continue with our low cost/low risk model of lease ownership, which means there is no upfront cost to you as a member and the monthly subscription is one of the lowest on the market at just £189pm. For this you will get;
- A chance to be involved in naming the filly
- A 1/12th share in the filly for 12 months
- A 1/12th share of all prizemoney earned
- Owners' badges when the filly races
- Access to the parade ring and the opportunity to listen to the trainer giving the jockey pre-race instructions
- Stable visits
- Regular communication about the horse and other horses in the stable
- Syndicate social functions
In addition, our agreement with the owner is such that, if the filly picks up a serious injury and can't race, she is returned to them. This means that subscriptions would cease and gives you peace of mind that you are not risking your money on a horse that will not be running.
Shares are limited and we will allocate them on a first come, first served basis. We already have a lot of interest in this syndicate so if you are wanting to join us please let us know ASAP.
