£10,000 for 1/3rd share.
Category: Horses in training (NH)
Sire: Black Sam Bellamy
Dam Sire: Orpen
Third shares are offered in the seven-year-old mare Maid O'Malley. A hugely promising daughter of Black Sam Bellamy, she is currently in training with Stuart Coltherd and is now ready to show her true ability after running well in a December novice hurdle at Kelso after a long break.
Maid O'Malley won on her point-to-point debut at Cothelstone back in March, the form of which has worked out well as the second-placed horse went on to win its next three races.
Maid O'Malley was given time to strenghten and mature after her victory between the flags, and made her debut under rules in a very hot novice hurdle at Perth towards the end of September, finshing an excellent second. The winner, Queen's Magic, has now won a novice hurdle and bumper, as well as placing in a class 2 bumper at Cheltenham, so the form has a very strong look to it.
Maid O'Malley is out of the winning Orpen mare Jolie, and hails from a family that can be traced all the way back to the great Allez France and which features numerous winning jumpers. Her late sire is now well-established as one of the leading NH stallions of the present day, thanks to the exploits of Grade-1 winning hurdlers Sam Spinnner and Galop Marin, as well as the Gold Cup runner-up The Giant Bolster.
This excellent mare remains unexposed under rules and at seven years of age is only just reaching her peak. She presents new connections with a range of exciting options, particularly with so much racing ahead of her.
She has clean legs, is clean winded and open to any vetting.
