2019 Filly by Ardad (Ire) ex Astley Park (GB))

An April-born two-year-old filly by Ardad is available for sale.

This strong and attractive individual is out of the unraced Dutch Art mare Astley Park, who has also produced a four-year-old filly by Mayson, a three-year-old filly by Brazen Beau and a yearling colt by Charming Thought. She still awaits her first runner.

Astley Park is in turn out of the exceptionally speedy Anglezarke, who won on her racecourse debut at two and went on to finish second in the Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes and third in the Grp-1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Anglezarke has subsequently produced three winners, including the formerly 97-rated five-time winner Holmeswood.

Astley Park's sire Dutch Art is now a noted broodmare sire source, with his daughters responsible for the Grp-1 placed two-year-old Jash, the Grp-3 winners Fas, Silva and Yulong Gold Fairy and the impressive recent Grp-2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Alkumait.

Both Jash and Silva are sons of Kodiac, who also happens to be the sire of the covering sire in this instance, Ardad.

Ardad won the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (defeating Battaash) and the Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes during a highly profitable two-year-old season. He was retired to Overbury Stud for the 2018 breeding season and his first runners are awaited with real anticipation.

His progeny have impressed onlookers in the sales ring, realising sums up to £55,000 during the early jousts of the yearling sales season. He looks a good bet to take high rank amongst the 2021 first season sires and appears to be particularly well-matched with Astley Park.
