2019 Colt by Vocalised (USA) ex Fields Of May (Ire)

A stunning two-year-old colt by Vocalised is offered for sale; price on application.

From a family that has been cultivated by master trainer/breeder Jim Bolger on both sides, he is out of the talented Intense Focus mare Fields Of May.

She was the winner of a seven-and-a-half-furlong Tipperary maiden on her second start as a two-year-old, having finished close-up behind the subsequent 1,000 Guineas heroine Legatissimo on her debut. She would go on to earn valuable black-type when third in the Listed Star Appeal Stakes later that season.

Since retiring to breeding duties Fields Of May has produced two runners. Her four-year-old New Approach gelding McCabe finishing second in a Gowran maiden on his racecourse debut in 2019, whilst her five-year-old Vocalised gelding Wexford Land (a full-brother to the yearling for sale), displayed promise when fourth to the subsequent Grp-3 winner Constantinople as a two-year-old.

The next dam Abigail's Aunt was a full-sister to the Listed winner Kalindi, who would in turn go on to produce three stakes winners including the Grp-1 King's Stand Stakes runner-up Medicean Man and the Grp-3 Round Tower Stakes heroine Abigail Pett.

The impressive distaff side of this pedigree is sure to be complemented by the influence of the sire Vocalised.

A $560,000 yearling, Vocalised went on to win the Grp-3 Greenham Stakes and Grp-3 Tetrarch Stakes as a three-year-old, before commencing covering duties in 2011.

Although only afforded relatively limited opportunities at stud, he has demonstrated himself to be a stallion capable of producing horses right out of the top drawer. His best runners to date include the Grp-1 National Stakes winner Verbal Dexterity, the dual Grp-3 winning and Grp-1 placed Steip Amach and the Listed and Grp-3 winner Cimeara. 

It is also worth noting the winning records of Copia Verborum (Grp-3 placed behind the Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck as a two-year-old) and Vocatus (six length winner of a Galway maiden), as they are both sons of Vocalised out of Intense Focus mares.
