This May-foaled chestnut colt is out of the Darley-bred mare Ferayha, who raced once for Roger Varian in the Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum silks. Feryaha is in turn out of the Grp-3 placed Albahaja, and five of her siblings were successful on the track. She is also a daughter of the great Cape Cross, whose reputation as a broodmare sire continues to soar. His mares are now responsible for the six-time Grp-1 winner Laurens and the Derby winners Masar and Australia, amongst others. Ferayha's other progeny yet to race include a two-year-old filly by sire of the moment Cable Bay, who can add to the page in due course.
The sire Havana Gold was a Grp-3 winning two-year-old that trained on to win the Grp-1 Prix Jean Prat at three. He has made a very strong start to his stallion career, with his eldest progeny now four years of age. He was Champion First Crop Sire in 2017 and has already produced the Grp-1 winning sprinter and now sire Havana Grey and the dual Grp-3 winner Treasuring.
This January-foaled filly is by the classy seven-furlong performer Markaz, who won the the Grp-3 Criterion Stakes and the Grp-3 Chipchase Stakes. A £200,000 yearling, Markaz is by the outstanding Dark Angel and is a full-brother to the brilliant dual Grp-1 Nunthorpe Stakes heroine Mecca's Angel.
The sire's first crop is awaited with great expectation in 2020, and his speed influence looks sure to match well with the dam of this filly, All Fur Coat. The mare is a sibling of the Listed-placed Prince Of Elegance and earned a peak rating of 87 in her own right, having won the Lily Agnes Stakes five-furlongs class 2 race at Chester as a two-year-old. Since retiring to breeding duties she has successfully matched with sprinters to produce two previous winners. Ex-trainer Paul George described this Markaz yearling filly as a 'rocket' and also notes that she is a good mover and displays a lovely temperament. Electric Angel looks a tailormade two-year-old for next season.
