A tremendous February-born colt foal by Galiway is offered for sale.
He is out of the Exceed And Excel mare Exceedingly Diva, who was runner-up in a Windsor maiden on her racecourse debut as a two-year-old, before winning over six-furlongs at Salisbury second time out. She defeated the subsequently 90-rated Kick On Kick On and future Grp-3 winner Foxtrot Lady when securing that maiden success, and would be allocated an official rating of 81 soon after.
Exceedingly Diva retired to the paddocks at the end of her four-year-old campaign, having been placed on her final two appearances. She has since produced a yearling filly by Havana Grey, in addition to the foal for sale.
Exceedingly Diva is out of a Shadwell-bred Oasis Dream mare, whose half-brother Algaith won four times and was runner-up in Listed company. The next generation of the family features the 1,000 Guinea heroine Ghanaati, the Oaks third Rumoush and the Champion Stakes runner-up Mawaatheq, amongst numerous other black-type performers.
It is also worth noting that Exceedingly Diva's sire Exceed And Excel is a distinguished broodmare sire, his daughters having produced the likes of Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck and the July Cup winner Ten Sovereigns.
The covering sire Galiway was a winner on his racecourse debut, and later finished Grp-3 placed at two and three, as well as capturing the Listed Prix Le Fabuleux. As a son of the great Galileo and as a sibling or near-relation of high-class performers and sires Silent Name, Salto and Gold Away, a stallion career was always going to follow.
Galiway commenced stud duties at Haras de Colleville in 2016 and his first runners emerged during the 2019 season. Numerous smart winners have followed, notably last seasons eight-length Grp-1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Sealiway, the triple Listed and Grp-3 winner Kenway, the Grp-2 placed Gregolimo and the Listed-winner and Grp-2 placed Galova.
On the back of these successes, Galiway stood the 2021 season at a career-high fee of €12,000, and his progeny auctioned for up to €115,00 at the 2020 round of yearling auctions.
This outstanding individual is the product of an increasingly fashionable stallion and out of a mare who possesses enormous potential. Please get in touch for more details.
