The 13-year-old Desert Prince mare Super Faida is offered for sale, in foal to Dylan Mouth. A flat winner who ascended to the highest echelon over hurdles in Italy, she hails from a prolific black-type family and possesses enormous breeding potential.
Super Faida won on the flat as a two-year-old but her true potential was only revealed when she was sent hurdling. She won five times and more than £85,000 over timber, most notably the Grade-1 Gran Criterium d'Autunno Hurdle at Merano and the Grade-3 Premio Ettore Tagliabue Hurdle.
High-class racecourse talent is coupled with a classy pedigree. Super Faida is one of three winners out of the prolific winner and Listed-placed Rapiddima, whilst the further family features the Grp-1 Prix Vermeille heroine Sweet Stream, the Grp-1 Dewhurst Stakes runner-up Saros and the Italian Listed winner Testa O Croce. Another near relation, the Listed-placed flat performer Sealskin, confirms the potency of this family as a NH source as he was also a high-class and prolific Italian jumper.
Adding to the appeal of this pedigree for NH breeders is the record of Desert Prince as a broodmare sire over jumps. He has proven himself to be a dynamic source, as his daughters have given numerous black-type earning horses over obstacles, including the French Grade-3 winner Unidentified Thief, the Irish Grade-3 winning hurdler Early Doors and Notti Magiche, a dual Grade-1 chase winner in Italy.
Super Faida has recently been scanned in foal to the triple Italian Grp-1 winner Dylan Mouth. An exceptionally tough and durable performer, he was dominant in Italy earlier in his career, but widened his international appeal by moving to Britain as an older horse. He won the prestigious Old Newton Cup handicap as a six-year-old and the Grp-3 Silver Cup Stakes at seven on his way to compiling an extraordinary race record of 14 wins from 31 starts, proving his durability, constitution and class in the process.
Super Faida has previously produced exciting young stock by Mountain High and Cannock Chase, although as yet her potential as a broodmare remains untested. However, her Cannock Chase colt selling for €55,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland November NH Sale last year was a sure nod to her potential.
With an impeccable racing record and high-class pedigree, this mare looks likely to take high rank in her second career. Don't miss out at a very competitive price.
