The beautiful and very untypical liver chestnut mare Sea Flora is offered for sale, in foal to the exciting young stallion Telescope.
A daughter of Alflora from an excellent NH family, she is a very kind and uncomplicated homebred that is easy to do in every way. She is good to box, shoe, clip and hack.
Sea Flora has not raced under rules or been put into training but has been evented up to BE100 level by a weekend rider. In her competitive career she has demonstrated that she is a very genuine horse, and was the winner at the Kent County Show of the In Hand Broodmare division.
She remains completely sound as she has her attentions switched to breeding, and could potentially continue her competitive career in the future should her new connections desire. She is a full-sister to Algy and a half-sister to Yes I Can, fellow homebreds who were also both event horses.
She is out of the winning Slip Anchor mare Fairlead, so counts amongst her siblings the dual bumper and hurdles winner Queen Soraya, and is therefore an aunt of the Listed winning bumper performer and Grade-2 winning hurdler Snow Leopardess.
The covering sire Telescope won the Grp-2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot by seven lengths during a stellar racing career. A son of the incomparable Galileo, he is now embarking on a career as a NH stallion at Shade Oak Stud and he has proved immensely popular in his first few seasons.
This is an exciting opportunity to purchase a well-related mare, with many breeding years ahead of her, in foal to one of the most sought after young stallions of the moment. Sea Flora has proven she can jump, has enviable looks and pedigree credentials, and should not be missed at a competitive price.
