PRICE REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE!
The 12-year-old Dalakhani mare Michevious Spirit is offered for sale as a breeding prospect and surely represents very good value at this new reduced price.
She was runner-up in a Nottingham maiden when trained by Kevin Ryan as a two-year-old, finding only the exceptionally well-bred Godolphin mare Bint Almatar too good. She would go on to show ability in France at three, and even had a couple of spins over hurdles as a four-year-old.
Although her racing days are now well behind her, there is little doubt that Michevious Spirit is well-credentialed for a breeding career. She is out of Roseanna, who won the Listed Prix Yacowlef on her racecourse debut as a juvenile - defeating the outstanding sprinter Chineur by three lengths in the process - and would go on to finish in the midfield in the Grp-1 Prix Marcel Boussac and trained on to be third in the Grp-3 Nell Gwyn Stakes as a three-year-old.
Roseanna's other progeny includes the fair seven-furlong winner Tanmawy, whilst her near relations include the brilliant Arc and King George victrix Danedream, the Grp-1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner and sire Falco, the Grp-1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud scorer Plumania, the Grp-1 Prix Lupin winner and sire Groom Dancer, the Grp-1 Prix Ganay winner and sire Vert Amande and the Grp-1 Prix Vermeille heroine Indian Rose, amongst many others.
Another indicator of Michevious Spirit's potential as a broodmare is the identity of her sire. A brilliant Arc winner, Dalakhani is now a widely acknowledged force to be reckoned with in the broodmare sire division. In recent seasons his daughters have produced the Derby runner-up US Army Ranger, the dual Grp-3 winner Nelson, the Grp-2 May Hill Stakes winner Agnes Stewart, the Listed winning and dual Grp-3 placed Global Giant and the legendary eight-time Grade-1 winning hurdler Nichols Canyon.
This last point, and the success of family member Falco in the NH sphere as sire of Grade-1 Triumph Hurdle winner Peace And Co, points to the dual-purpose potential of Michevious Spirit as a breeder. The fact she completed in both her starts under NH rules further underlines this theory.
A mare who displayed ability on the racecourse, and whose family features numerous top-class animals within just a few generations, Michevious Spirit appears to offer excellent value at the advertised price.
