The attractive seven-year-old Danehill Dancer mare Heartasia is offered for sale at £4,000 plus VAT. The winner of two bumpers and placed several times over hurdles from just a handful of starts, she has been retired from racing due to injury.
Trained throughout her career by Susan Corbett, Heartasia showed promise in a pair of bumpers before running out a highly impressive four-length winner at Wetherby on her third start in April 2017.
She went on to win again in a competitive Mares' bumper at Kelso the following month, turning in an even more taking performance. Held up early on, Heartasia took the lead fully three-furlongs from home, before powering clear of her rivals to record an easy eight-length success.
Sent hurdling later that year, she was placed on her first three starts over timber, hinting that a breakthrough success was just around the corner. Unfortunately, Heartasia ran only twice more following the conclusion of the 2017/18 NH season and a breeding career now awaits.
There is certainly much to look forward to from her second vocation, as she combines proven jumps form with a smart flat orientated pedigree.
Heartasia is out of the unraced Mr Greeley mare Big Heart, who is in turn a half-sister to the Grp-3 and Royal Ascot winning two-year-old Habaayib. Their winning dam Silver Kestrel was a sibling of the stakes performers Jeffries Bay and Hunter's Fortune, out of the US Grade-2 winner Salty Perfume.
Meanwhile her sire, the great Danehill Dancer, is recognised as a top-class broodmare sire source. His daughters are best known for giving countless top-class flat performers such as Minding, The Gurkha and Circus Maximus, but the record of his mares as NH producers must not be underestimated.
High-class jumpers out of Danehill Dancer mares include the dual Grade-2 winner Sempre Medici, the recent Grade-2 Kingwell Hurdle victor Song For Someone, the Grade-2 winning hurdler (and Royal Ascot and Grp-2 winning flat star) Thomas Hobson and the Listed winning 160-rated hurdler Different Gravey.
Heartasia was a classy mare on the track whose quality pedigree presents breeders with a range of exciting options. She is surely worth taking a chance on at a very competitive price.
