The well-related 10-year-old mare Elision is offered for sale at £4,500. An attractive, correct and athletic daughter of Samum, she was covered by the promising sire Outstrip on the 11th March 2020.
Elision's first runner (named EVE, a Charm Spirit filly) won as a two year old in June 2020 and was 4th in a Listed race in July 2020 beaten a short head.
She also has a three-year-old filly named Oceans Meet by Sea The Stars in training with Simon & Ed Crisford who made her debut on 2nd August 2020 and finished a hugely promising and fast finishing third beaten just 1/2 a length behind rivals with racecourse experience. The Racing Post anaysis said that she "shaped like the best prospect in and amongst some other well-bred fillies, a likely sort to get off the mark next time".
Also the mare has a yearling colt by Zelzal (son of Sea The Stars) who should be racing in 2021. So, it is an active family with the promise of significant updates and the potential to add to the mare's value in the years to come.
This sale comes with the added bonus of being covered by Outstrip, a thriving young second season sire. He was a precocious racehorse himself, winning the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf along with the Group 2 Champagne Stakes.
As a stallion, he had an impressive 22 juvenile winners in his first crop including the Listed National Stakes heroine Flippa The Strippa and his progeny have realised up to €100,000 in the auction ring during the past 12 months. His first three year olds in 2020 include two Group winners - Group 2 Prix Greffulhe hero Gold Trip and the Group 3 Florida Oaks scorer Outburst.
Although unraced, Elision is the product of a highly successful Darley family. She is out of the Lomitas mare Epic Similie, who won over a mile and a half on racecourse debut and was later placed at Listed level.
Elision is therefore a half-sister to the smart Figure of Speech, who was runner-up in the Grp-2 July Stakes and third in the Grp-3 Sirenia Stakes as a two-year-old when racing in the Godolphin blue. Another sibling, Epithet, would also win for Godolphin as a two-year-old and was rated as high as 89, despite only having a handful of starts.
The extended family underlines the quality of this pedigree. Epic Similie is a half-sister to the Grp-1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere winner and sire Ultra and the Grp-3 Prix Minerve heroine Synopsis, whilst numerous other Grp-1 winners are to be found further down the page.
The mare is a windsucker.
