Call Me Chris (GB)

The well-related seven-year-old Kayf Tara mare Call Me Chris is offered for auction as a broodmare prospect.

Call Me Chris ran a handful of times for trainer Dan Skelton up to February 2020, most notably taking fourth in a two-mile maiden hurdle in December 2019.

She is out of the smart NH performer I'm Delilah, who won a bumper as well as over hurdles and fences. The mare has produced two other runners to date, including Calle Me Chris's full-brother Hello Bertie, who was talented enough to place in two bumpers and on his hurdling debut.

The classy I'm Delilah was a nose second in the Grade-2 Lightning Novices' Chase at Doncaster and third in the Grade-3 Red Rum Handicap Chase at the Grand National meeting. Meanwhile, her half-brother Watch My Back was a six-time winner who was rated in the mid-140s over fences at the peak of his powers.

Such pedigree details point to a bright breeding future for Call Me Chris, particularly when the identity of her sire is taken into account.

The curtain has recently come down on Kayf Tara's glittering stallion career, which featured 11 British Champion NH sire titles, though he still has numerous exciting crops set to represent him in the forthcoming seasons.

The dual Ascot Gold Cup winner forged an exceptional reputation as a stallion thanks to numerous top-class progeny such as Thistlecrack and Special Tiara, whilst he is also a highly coveted source within the broodmare sire division.
