We are excited to announce our new team of 6 colts for the 2023 season. Brian Meehan and Sam Sangster are incredible excited about them - all being by proven sires, with strong pedigrees to match. We welcome you to join us for another season of success.
2021 c Starspangledbanner ex Butterfly Kiss by Medaglia d’Oro
A quality colt by a stallion that continues to produce Group 1 winners, including this year’s Royal Ascot Group 1 winner State Of Rest, from a family of Group 1 performer Laughing Lashes. This colt really caught our eye at the sales and we expect that he will debut in the early part of the season.
2021 c Exceed And Excel ex Kyllarney by Kyllachy
A son of leading sire Exceed And Excel who continues to produce world class horses year after year out of a winning daughter of Kyllachy. This colt has done nothing but improve since we bought him. The stallion has proved himself, producing world class racehorses annually.
2021 c Expert Eye ex Taleteller by Bernardini
Expert Eye has enjoyed a great first season and his progeny look like the type that will only improve at three. This colt has a lot going for him. He is a ball of muscle and looks to have a great mind, which is a trait of a stallion. He is from a family of Group 1 winning sires in Russian Revolution and Home Affairs and out of a daughter of Bernardini who has had two Group 1 winners last year as a broodmare sire.
2021 c Profitable ex Sovana
This colt is one that ticks all the boxes… pedigree, a half brother to 3 stakes performers, two who performed at Group 1 level. He is unbelievable depth and presence and the stallion’s two-year-olds know how to win and impress consistently. He is an exciting prospect for the early part of the season.
2021 c Churchill ex Midnight Music by Dubawi
Churchill is a stallion that takes a lot of risk out of the selection process - they are winners. They have fantastic temperaments and they love their work and racing. This colt is a half-brother to a Group 2 winner and out of a Dubawi mare he is a really exciting prospect for 2023.
2021 c Territories ex Hinata by Galileo
This colt has all the qualities that we look for at the sales. He’s well balanced, a lovely mover and physically has plenty of strength and presence. He is by a proven stallion in Territories and out of a Galileo mare. Galileo as a broodmare sire has already produced 44 Group 1 winners and almost 150 Group winners - his stats are simply amazing. This colt was bought in France from a top breeder and although he might be one for mid season, we are hopeful that he will be worth the wait.
The partnership consists of six yearling colts purchased at public auction in Europe at an average of £50,000 per horse, with £300,000 the total budget allocated to purchasing. The total fund raised is £600,000 which includes purchase and training fees and is divided down into units of 10, which can be further broken down should there be the demand. All costs are covered until the end of the 2024 season.
Our partnerships are set up for exit strategies and we have an export market in mind for the horses we have bought.
All horses in the partnership are trained by Brian Meehan and are under the management of Sam Sangster. Badges and hospitality are available on raceways and open days are put on for owners to visit the horses at Manton.
