Following a record number of winners on the track this year as well as a record strike rate (17%) and record prize money (£575,000), Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds are pleased to showcase our new partnerships to race in 2023.
The Andrew Balding Syndicate
Fast Company ex The Singing Hills colt
This easy moving son of the late Fast Company was bought for €58,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale, where we also purchased his paternal half-brother Flashcard. We also bought Sir Busker there too, and this new colt was bred/sold by Sir Busker’s breeder/vendor, John Foley of Ballyvolane Stud. There was a real sense of deja vu when we bought this colt, as we loved him!
This will be a 16 share Partnership at £8,800 per share with the first payment due on signing of £6,400 and the balance of £2,400 due on 31st March 2023.

The Clive Cox Syndicate
El Kabeir ex Sweet Dragon Fly colt
This colt looks a precocious sort, by the multiple US Graded Stakes winner El Kabeir, a son of the top class and much missed stallion Scat Daddy who shares his sire line with Justify and Caravaggio. The colt’s dam, Sweet Dragon Fly, won twice in the UK and achieved a rating of 87 before being transferred to the US where she gained ‘Black-Type’ in California.
This will be a 16 share Partnership at £8,300 per share with the first payment due on signing of £5,900 and the balance of £2,400 due on 31st March 2023.

The Charlie and Mark Johnston Syndicate
Advertise ex Sahara Sky colt
This colt is from the first crop of the triple Group 1 winner Advertise, a fast son of Showcasing who won the Phoenix Stakes aged two and the Commonwealth Cup and Prix Maurice du Gheest as a three-year-old. Showcasing has made a promising start as a sire of sires and with Pivotal on his dam's side, there is every chance Advertise will cut the mustard as a stallion.
This will be a 16 share Partnership at £9,800 per share with the first payment due on signing of £7,400 and the balance of £2,400 due on 31st March 2023.

The William Knight Syndicate
Highland Reel ex Four Eleven colt
We purchased this colt for €65,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale. Although he is eligible for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Race, his pedigree suggests he might be more of a middle distance type. He is by the multiple Group 1-winning globetrotter Highland Reel, a ten times winner including seven at Group 1 level.
This will be a 16 share Partnership at £9,400 per share with the first payment due on signing of £7,000 and the balance of £2,400 due on 31st March 2023.
