By Roman Candle, French-bred gelding Batavius is from the first crop of his sire and is the second foal out of Bahama's Hope, making him a half-brother to City Of Hope (Elusive City) who broke his maiden at Pau on 27 January.
The gelding's third dam is the Group placed mare New Abbey who is a half-sister to Group 1 Irish Oaks winner Weymyss Bight, dam of multiple Group 1 winner and successful sire Beat Hollow.
This is also the family of Group 1 winners in leading young Ballylinch Stud-based sire New Bay, Juddmonte Farm's successful stallion in Oasis Dream as well as Reefscape and Zenda.
Bahama's Hope also has a 2022 filly foal by Morandi.
This gelding is in training in France.
