Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds are delighted to offer shares in a yearling colt by Sir Prancealot, out of the smart Unfuwain mare Silk Fan. The youngster will be trained by multiple Grp-1 winning trainer Clive Cox from his Lambourn base.
Sir Prancealot won the Grp-2 Flying Childers Stakes on his sixth and final racecourse start, retiring to stud before he had the chance to add to his tally at three. He has long since burnished a reputation as a reliable source of speedy and durable offspring, though he has increased the quality of his output in recent seasons. His best progeny include this season's dual Grp-2 winner Sir Dancealot, the teak-tough Madam Dancealot - a Grp-3 winner over here before winning in Grade-2 company and placing multiple times at the highest level in the US - and KVT's very own promising juvenile Sir Busker, to name just a few.
The dam Silk Gift was a three-time winner that finished fourth in Listed company on two occasions. Her numerous winning offspring include the prolific flat winner and Grade-2 placed hurdler Eagle Rock, the Grp-3 placed two-year-old Haikbidiac and the prolific winning sprinter Fanrouge.
As well as an enviable record as a producer, Silk Fan also boasts a notable pedigree. Her half-brother Gutaifan was a dual Grp-2 winning and Grp-1 placed juvenile that has now gone to stud, whilst the extended family features Grp-1 winning Melbourne Cup candidate Ventura Storm and the dual Grp-2 Hardwicke Stakes winner and multiple Grp-1 placed Maraahel. It is also worth noting that Unfuwain is the broodmare sire of the winners of dozens of pattern races, including top-level victors Brown Panther, Shamalgan, Getaway, Quijano and Ask For The Moon.
Clive Cox was so taken with this handsome son of Sir Prancealot that he vowed he would buy the colt for himself should KVT pass on him. We didn't let that happen, and now you must do the same!
