The Smart Omanome Partnership is set to launch for the 2019 season, with shares of 2.5, 5 and 10% available in an exciting two-year-old colt by the proven sire Footstepsinthesand. The youngster will be trained by multiple Grp-1 and Classic winning trainer Bryan Smart from his North Yorkshire base.
This impressive-looking juvenile is out of the Acclamation mare Omanome, who was a six-furlong winner as a two-year-old and has produced one winner from one runner to date. Meanwhile, her sire is developing a fine reputation as a broodmare sire, his daughters producing in recent seasons the Grp-1 Commonwealth Cup winner Eqtidaar and the 2,000 Guineas runner-up Massaat.
Bryan is familiar with the family having trained the colt's half-brother Moojim to win a Thirsk novice over five-furlongs as a two-year-old last year and finish a neck second in the hugely lucrative Weatherbys Super Sprint. He has placed in five of his eight starts to date and earned over £60,000 in prize money during his debut season.
The sire Footstepsinthesand was an unbeaten 2,000 Guineas winner for Aidan O'Brien, who has gone on to prove himself a reliable stallion, capable of producing Grp-1 winners. Interestingly, his record with Acclamation mares is notable, as the three runners to have represented the nick to this point include the 88-rated six-furlong winner Sandahl and the 94-rated dual winner La Rav.
Excitingly, this two-year-old is promising to emulate his elder sibling as he is already producing some really pleasing work. He is a bigger model than Moojim and looks every bit as talented, whilst as the second picture demonstrates he shows a great attitude to his work with maturity beyond his years, as he can act as lead horse to the rest of the string!
He was an absolute bargain buy at the sales and, although his value has already increased significantly since he was purchased last year, nothing has been added to his original sale price. The price you pay includes a share in the horse and all training and racing costs up to the end of 2019 with no hidden extras.
