Sasheen Partnership Syndicates are thrilled to offer shares in a March 2016 son of Archipenko currently being named FITWOOD STAR.
This young colt is a second foal out of the useful racemare Sasheen. In a long career she demonstrated a good level of ability and her constitution was such that she stood up to the rigours of racing for four full seasons. She was precocious enough to be placed on her second outing as a two-year-old over a mile and later won three handicaps over distances ranging from a mile to a mile-and-a-quarter. In total, she was placed on 10 of her 36 outings and was rated as high as 70 at her peak.
Sasheen hails from a family of enduring quality; indeed her female line can be traced all the way back to the legendary Pretty Polly. Her dam Sashay was a prolific six-time winner over staying trips and therefore Sasheen counts amongst her siblings the ten-time winner Precision Five (two hurdles / eight flat) and the six-time winner Laser Blazer (three hurdles / three flat). The last named was a full brother of Sasheen and was smart enough to be officially rated 132 during his hurdling career.
Sasheen has had one earlier foal, a 2014 gelding by Schiaparelli that is named Monscheen. He is unraced so far, but is in training and has an exciting future. He has been heart sized (results available upon request) by Prof. Lesley E Young and his heart size corresponds favourably with group-race winners. Sasheen also has a 2017 filly by Indian Haven and is currently in foal to Equiano - the range of stallions she has visited emphasising what diverse options she presents and reflecting the dual-purpose nature of her family.
The recent death of the stallion Archipenko has been keenly felt by the breeding industry, as he has regularly outstripped expectations with his progeny. His best representatives include the Grp-1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner Madame Chiang and the recent Grp-1 Hong Kong Cup winner Time Warp.
The colt is in training in Hampshire with Patrick Chamings, who has sent out well over 200 winners during a successful career, excelling with both flat and NH horses.
