Rasio Cymru is delighted to offer shares in twice-raced four-year-old Tabaahy. This tremendously well-bred son of Kyllachy is set to join trainer David O'Meara's powerful string in Upper Helmsley, North Yorkshire. It is hoped he will be ready to start racing towards the end of April and continue running throughout the upcoming turf season.
Previously trained in Ireland, Tabaahy was a 260,000gns yearling purchase who raced in the famous blue and white Hamdan Al Maktoum silks at the start of his career. Unraced at two, he demonstrated bags of promise when fifth in a five-furlong Curragh maiden last June, which was won by the now 94-rated and Listed-placed Soffia.
He failed to reproduce the form on his only subsequent appearance, but will have strengthened in the interim and has had a gelding operation from which he is sure to derive improvement. If he can live up to his pedigree, then there is an awful lot more to come.
Bred by the Cheveley Park Stud he is a member of a distinguished family. He is a full-brother to the magnificent Penitent, whose 11 career victories included the Grp-2 Sandown Mile, the Grp-2 Joel Stakes, the Grp-3 John of Gaunt Stakes, multiple Listed events and the Lincoln. He was trained for the greater part of his career by David O'Meara, so the trainer is familiar with the family, whilst other winning siblings include the 11-time winner Divine Call, the 10-time winner Solemn and the Grp-2 Mill Reef Stakes hero Supplicant.
Rasio Cymru is a small and friendly syndicate that has enjoyed tremendous success with David O'Meara previously, thanks to the exploits of multiple winners Steel Train and Stonific. This particular horse looks extremely well bought, having shown racecourse promise and possessing a fantastic pedigree - he retains unlimited potential and rarely will a horse with such credentials be available at such an affordable price.
