Dare To Dream Racing is delighted to offer shares in the nice-moving six-year-old gelding Maroc. The son of Rock of Gibraltar is trained by Nikki Evans in Monmouthshire and is a lovely dual-purpose performer who runs consistently and regularly and is sure to give his owners an awful lot of fun and excitement.
*In fact, so confident are we that he will win a race that the ownership fee of £800 will be waived until he has won! So until then all that is payable is the £200 per month training fee (for a 10% share). Other share sizes are available in the same deal - why not take half the horse!
Maroc showed promise in maidens as a two-year-old, before stepping forward significantly at three. That year he placed at Windsor, Nottingham, Salisbury and Lingfield, before finishing in the first four on eight consecutive occasions as a four-year-old. He got off the mark last August in a mile and a quarter Lingfield handicap from a mark of 67, and as we speak his turf mark of 70 looks fair, whilst his AW rating of just 63 looks extremely lenient.
Added to his consistent and improving form on the flat, he has also embarked on a jumping career, placing three times over hurdles to date. His hurdles rating of 96 looks to underestimate his ability by some way, based both on his form on the level and early efforts over timber - so it will not be long before he gains that breakthrough success under NH rules.
At Market Rasen in December Maroc was an excellent third in a two mile handicap hurdle, in a race in which the winner and second have come out and boosted the form since. At Hungtingon in February he was a very narrowly beaten second in a competitive two mile handicap hurdle, looking the winner for much of the contest and going down bravely in a driving fashion. These efforts confirm Maroc remains in excellent form, and recent efforts under both codes suggest he is getting better with age and that his best days lie in the future. Indeed, he surely has excellent chasing potential down the line.
He has recently undergone a wind operation, which will hopefully
unlock a little bit of extra improvement too.
Maroc will continue to run over hurdles until March/April, at which point his attentions will be turned back to the flat. A tough and consistent horse, effective on fast ground, soft ground and the AW, over a variety of course types and distances, he is rarely out of the prize money and guarantees syndicate members a thrilling ride over the coming months. With this special offer on the table, can you really afford to miss out?
