The winning point-to-point mare Eddies Pearl is available for syndication at a very reasonable price, with the current owner retaining a 50% share. She is trained by Brian Forsey in Somerset.
Eddies Pearl finished sixth in her first chase at Exeter on April 16th, running on at the end. She is now going for 2m 5f- 3m chases and connections feel confident she will pick up some prize-money on her next run
Initially trained in Ireland, she is a graduate of the Irish point-to-point scene, and even ran in a Bumper under rules. Since transferring across the Irish Sea in early 2016, she has been a gradual improver in points, culminating in a victory at Flete Park in May.
She had has three educational hurdle runs under Rules earlier this year without showing, but, clearly, her game is distance chasing on softish ground.
Eddies Pearl is a daughter of Florida Bay, which makes her a half-sister to six-time winner Majestic Mayhem, who was rated 128 at his peak. Florida Bay is from a family that is NH royalty, as her full-brother is none other than legendary nine-time Grade-1 winner Florida Pearl. His long list of staggering achievements include winning the King George VI Chase at Kempton and the Irish Hennessy (now known as Irish Gold Cup) at Leopardstown on four occasions. Other siblings of Florida Bay include the five-time winner Florida Dream and the useful staying chaser Rey Nacarado.
Eddies Pearl is a daughter of Craigsteel, a Grp-2 winner during his racing days who has had plenty of success at stud. His best progeny include the Grade-2 winning hurdler Cross Kennon and last season's top novice hurdler Wholestone. A dual Grade-2 winner, he was a fine third in the Grade-1 Albert Bartlett Novices' hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival back in the spring.
