Ventura Racing is delighted to offer shares from 2.5% to 10% in the two-year-old Elzaam colt Commander Solo. He is trained by Richard Fahey in North Yorkshire.
Commander Solo is the first foal out of the mare Gangster Squad, who was a winner as a two-year-old in France. She is in turn out of the Stakes-placed US mare Ridemetothemoon, from the family of Grade-1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Cat Thief.
Commander Solo is by the imposing Australian-bred Elzaam, who won on two-year-old debut and progressed to Listed honours, as well as finishing placed in Grp-2 company. A son of sire of sires Redoute's Choice, his third crop of racing age are representing him on the track this season.
A noted source of sharp juveniles, his best runners to date include Clem Fandango, who was third in the Grp-2 Queen Mary Stakes behind the mighty Lady Aurelia, the Grp-2 placed Great Prospector and the exciting and progressive London Icon.
Another noted source of speedy two-year-olds is the Richard Fahey academy; there can surely be few better places for a precociously bred juvenile to begin its career. Some of Richard's best runners in this division in recent years include Grp-2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Sands of Mali, the Grp-2 Lowther Stakes heroine Queen Kindly, the Grp-2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte winner Donjuan Triumphant and, of course, Ribchester, who went on from a successful juvenile campaign to multiple victories at Grp-1 level.
With such fine pedigree credentials there must be every chance that Commander Solo can add to the tally of Richard Fahey trained two-year-old winners later in the season.
Ventura Racing is a new and exciting syndicate that proves that horse racing is no longer a sport reserved for just the Kings. The team celebrated their first winner with Capla Rock earlier this season, a two-year-old filly in training with Marco Botti. It was surely the first of many.
