Dam Sire: OVERBURY (IRE)
The lightly-raced nine-year-old mare Missesgeejay is being offered for sale.
An attractive 16hh plus daughter of Beat All, she has performed with credit in bumpers and over hurdles, having finished runner-up on her second outing and fourth on two subsequent occasions.
She was fifth on her first start over hurdles and has since run an eye-catching seventh at Leicester, again over the smaller obstacles, after which Racing TV reported 'she was the horse to take out of the race'. She is now being lined up for a mares'-only novice hurdle in the New Year.
Missesgeejay is by Beat All, a son of Dynaformer who was third in the 1999 Derby before later being sent to race in America. Beat All has become a successful dual-purpose sire, having been represented by multiple-winning NH performers such as Gentleman Jon and Gingili.
The dam of Missesgeejay is Riverbank Rainbow, a daughter of renowned jumps sire Overbury. She won a Uttoxeter bumper by 12 lengths during her short racing career. Daughters of Overbury have produced numerous excellent jumpers such as Knockgraffon, Bold Henry, Whispering Harry and Come On Annie.
Missesgeejay is being sold outright to stay in the yard of Stella Barclay during her racing career. Her future on the racecourse now promises much, as does a subsequent career as a broodmare.
A bargain, surely, at £1600.
