The February 2015 foal Shades is offered for sale by Bearstone Stud. Currently unraced, she hails from an outstanding family and retains enormous racing and breeding potential.
She is a daughter of the leading first season sire Lethal Force, who has made an exceptional impact already as a stallion. He was a dual Grp-1 winning sprinter during his racing career, and he got 21 individual winners last year. His yearlings have proven particularly popular in the sales ring, fetching as much as 115,000 Guineas. His best performers thus far include the Grp-3 placed Mokaatil and Would Be King.
Shades is out of the beautifully bred mare Razzle. She was lightly-raced during her racing career, placing over a mile-and-a-quarter as a three-year-old. She has proven herself a very smart producer though, with her three winners to date including the triple winner Double Cee and the 100-rated Infiraad. He won two of his first three starts and was subsequently sent off favourite for the Grp-3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The pedigree is full of quality and its shape was sculpted by the legendary late breeder Gerald Leigh. Razzle is out of the Listed-placed Organza, who is also the dam of multiple Grp-3 winner Desert Style. He went on to sire numerous top-class runners such as three-time Grp-1 winners Paco Boy and Mandesha. Organza is a daughter of the Blue Hen Canton Silk, so is a sibling of Irish 2000 Guineas and Breeders Cup Mile winner Barathea and Fillies Mile and Irish 1000 Guineas winner Gossamer. The last named has gone on to further enhance the family's reputation by foaling Grp-1 Racing Post Trophy hero Ibn Khaldun.
With such fine credentials on the dam's side and as a daughter of an exciting young sire, Shades is a young filly with a very exciting future. Interest is expected to be high in this fine prospect.
