The three-time winning Dark Angel mare Racing Angel is offered for sale. She rates an excellent broodmare prospect, but could also continue racing if her new connections desired.
Racing Angel ran just the once as a two-year-old when displaying promise in a Doncaster maiden. She progressed significantly the following year, winning consecutive handicaps over five-furlongs. She won again as a four-year-old and her rating climbed to as high as 70.
Last season she continued to run with enormous credit, but the fact that she didn't find the winner's enclosure has seen her mark drop to a very attractive looking level, should she race on. She has had no physical problems and is fit to race.
Her prospects as a broodmare look equally bright. Her dam Roclette has produced two other winners, including the six-time scorer Refuse Colette. The second dam Rose Bourbon was Listed-placed and her seven winning offspring include the Listed Acomb Stakes winner Bourbonnais and the Listed-placed Princess Roseburg. The extended family includes dozens of black-type animals.
Adding further lustre to Racing Angel's prospects in the breeding sheds is the identity of her sire Dark Angel. The stallion sensation is just starting to demonstrate his influence as a broodmare sire. Last season's leading juvenile Havana Grey, winner of the Grp-3 Molecomb Stakes and runner-up in Grp-1 company, was out of a Dark Angel mare.
