The successful racehorse Ki Ki is offered for sale as a prospective broodmare.
She was unraced as a two-year-old but got off the mark at the first time of asking the following year, making all for an easy victory in a Carlisle maiden over six-furlongs on soft ground. She ran only once more that season, before returning as a four-year-old in 2016 for a consistent and rewarding year in sprint handicaps.
It was this year as a five-year-old, however, that she really took her form to new heights. She won a handicap on the AW at Newcastle in March and added another success at Thirsk in midsummer.
Her career record now stands at a highly meritorious three wins and two places from just fourteen starts. She was effective on fast turf or soft, handled the AW well, and although precocious enough to win on debut, has kept her form right through to five-years of age. Such attributes are sure to attract breeders, as are her soundness, athletic nature and admirable attitude.
She is a daughter of the broodmare Peryllys, who has foaled numerous winners during a long career and has stakes perfomers amongst her siblings. The best of her progeny include the prolific twelve-time scorer Fossgate, three-time winner and formerly 86 rated Penelewy and the dual scorer Quintrell. Interestingly, the last named pair have both gone on to make successful broodmares.
Ki Ki is a daughter of Kheleyf, a formerly high class performer over seven-furlongs who has gone on to be a decent and reliable stallion. Encouragingly for the long term prospects of Ki Ki, he is also a successful broodmare sire - his most notable contribution in this sense being the Grp-1 Cheveley Park stakes heroine Tiggy Wiggy.
In summary, Ki Ki was a useful performer on the track, with a fine strike rate. She was trained in North Yorkshire by Classic winning trainer Bryan Smart, who looks forward to her offspring. Her exciting blend of looks, athleticism, soundness, and a winning pedigree, will make her a very hot property.
