The four-year-old filly Belle Of Seville is offered for sale with an exciting future ahead of her. A nice quiet ride, she has a fantastic temperament in all respects and has the potential to turn her hand to anything.
She was third in a maiden on debut, but has had limited opportunities to display her racecourse potential. As a daughter of leading sire Duke Of Marmalade, famed for giving stamina to his stock (eg. Ascot Gold Cup hero Big Orange, St Leger heroine Simple Verse), she also has the potential to go jumping. She has showed a real proficiency for the discipline in her schooling. The sire has started to make a real splash with his jumpers, highlighted by the recent victory of Elgin in the Grade-3 Greatwood Hurdle.
The dam Kekova was a winner in France and is a half-sister to Casilda, who was placed in the Grp-3 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket - only giving best to the Grp-1 placed Heaven Sent. Other useful runners in the immediate family include the 94-rated King Of Dreams.
This is an enduring Aga Khan family, and Belle Of Seville's pedigree can be quickly traced back to Listed winner Khanata, the Listed placed Korasoun and the Grp-1 placed Khoraz, via the third dam Kozana. That matriarch is also the dam of the unraced Kasora, who is immortalisesd as the dam of legendary Derby winner turned-sire High Chaparral and Grp-2 winner Black Bear Island.
Belle Of Seville has a fine future ahead of her, with many options open to potential buyers. She is offered at a fantastic value price as she has not been in training of late and has been turned out. She could race on, breed or be sold for a new discipline.
