A fantastic opportunity has arisen to purchase the exciting young broodmare prospect, Ana Lichious. A multiple winner on the racetrack, this beautiful mare hails from an excellent black-type family, and is eligible for the lucrative French Breeders' premiums.
After an encouraging run on her only outing as a juvenile, Ana Lichious blossomed as a three-year-old in France, winning four-times by the end of the season, all at a mile-and-a-quarter. She proved herself effective on ground ranging from good to very-soft, and she was also placed on the all-weather. In total, she earned just shy of £50,000 during her career.
Her dam Anayid has had numerous other winning foals, most notably the prolific Titus Mills. A six-time winner in his career so far, he was winner of the Listed Peter Willett Stakes as a two-year-old and was officially rated as high as 108. Other half-siblings include the 101 rated Sniper.
The second dam, Aqaarid, was an exceptional performer, winning the Grp-1 Fillies Mile on just her second racecourse appearance as a two-year-old. She won the Grp-3 Fred Darling Stakes the following year, on her way to finishing runner-up in the 1000 Guineas. The third dam Ashayer was also a winner at Grp-1 level at two years - providing further confirmation that this is an exceptional Shadwell family going back generations. Ana Lichious' sire Makfi won the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, and later added a further Grp-1 victory in the Prix Jacques Le Marois. Although sold for racing purposes, he too represents an historic Shadwell family, as his second-dam Irish Valley was responsible for Champion two-year-old and successful sire Alhaarth. Unsurprisingly, this top-class and well bred son of Dubawi has proved to be a major success at stud. His best runners include the dual Grp-1 winning French 2,000 Guineas hero Make Believe.
